Daisy, Hannah & the fabulous, Mee-Maw at the BK Lounge!!
After a couple days of being sicker than sick, I'm happy to report my antibiotics have kicked in and we're go for our RWA Conference East Coast launch!!!
Today, Hannah and I met Meeps and Peeps (Grandma and Grandpa for those of you who don't speak Arkie) at the BK Lounge located midway between Tulsa and Fayetteville. I made an executive decision that Daisy needed a level of care while her mother and I are out of town that our boys just aren't able to give. I asked Hubby if he would take her to work with him, but he declined. She's beyond spoiled and pretty much needs attention 24/7. My mom just lost her dog, Noodle, so I figured not only could Daisy benefit from getting love, but my mom from giving it!!
Home from buying Hubby's two week's worth of frozen pizzas and pot pies, the phone rang and it was my mom, reporting that she's in love!! Apparently, Daisy follows her everywhere and wants nothing more than than to sit on her lap and watch golfers whiz by on their carts. Mom has never had a true lap dog, and I've told her for years she needs one. Now, I think she may believe me!!
Since our mini-road trip this morning, Hannah and I have tanned and got our nails did, and are now home to pack. I've already tried on most everything in between runs to Dillard's and Steinmart, so I think I'm pretty good aside from finding my fave black Spanx which have vanished since our Shreveport trip. I know I wore them home, so they have to be here somewhere . . .
I almost forgot my dress for the big black/white ball being held at the Waldorf Astoria!! Remembered just in time to grab it from the cleaners. That would've been a DISASTER!!! Or maybe a blessing, considering the shopping within a few blocks of our Times Square hotel!!
Hannah's friend Louisa should be here soon. I'm hoping to make it to her Columbus, Ohio drop-off point tomorrow, where her boyfriend Ian is picking her up. The two of them are so gorgeous together it hurts to look!! I'll be sure to grab pics!!! Poor Hannah doesn't get to see her hunky Antonio until I've already left New Jersey for Manhattan. He's been invited to a hockey camp in Minnesota, so we wish him the best, but will miss him.
In other Oilers gossip, Hannah worked a promo event Sunday with Derek Eastman and Coach Ramsay. The coach was super nice and gave her shooting tips. Derek? Didn't say a word. Didn't even flash a half-smile. My writer's mind will weave him a sad, dark backstory as to why he's so dour!!
