Romance Road Trip--Day Three

Check out the view from where we dined in Ocean City high style!!!!

Cheating by writing this on Day 4, but I crashed EARLY last night!!

After a relaxing day lounging at the Baccari house, which is in a nice, ordinary neighborhood, we drove about ten minutes to arrive at a ginormous bridge that carried us directly to CRAZY BEACH FUN!!!!  I'm used to Alabama or Texas beaches where you can drives for miles without seeing a soul.  Sure, they have fun little bustling towns here and there, but Ocean City is wild!!!  Just like on TV--I know I'm a dork, so don't be a hatter by laughing at me so early in the morning--there's a wooden boardwalk that stretches for what felt like miles!!  Especially since in typical Laura style, I wore the completely wrong shoes!!

Back to the beginning of our night, we met Cousin Bobby and his wife, Sue.  Not only do they summer on the 14th floor of a beyond sweet condo with views that include the boardwalk, occasional dolphins and far off Atlantic City, but they were seriously fun folks!!  Bobby's a professor at Villanova and Sue a property manager with great stories.

Watching them prepare chicken picatta, homemade Caesar salad, asparagus and summer squash was akin to viewing one of my fave cooking shows.  For dessert, we had peach and blueberry pie made with fresh fruit and topped with ice cream.  It was breathtakingly yummy--and y'all know I love my food!!!  LOL!!!

After dinner, we walked the boardwalk, which pretty much starts at their building and went on until my feet became bloody stumps.  Trouble is, with an atmosphere part carnival, part mall, part people-watching extravaganza, no matter how much I knew my girl Margaret was going to yell at me for wearing myself out before even getting to New York, I couldn't stop.  I REALLY wanted a Jersey Girl shirt, but the shirt shops were custom-order with long lines.  I did snag a fridge magnet, bottle of sand and cute crab Christmas ornament.

Whew . . . I'm tired all over again just thinking about it!!  The only not perfect part of the night was missing Hubby and my boys.  I would've loved sharing it all with them, too.

Today, Antonio's sweetheart dad is loading my eighteen suitcases, Tori and Hannah for my trip into NYC.  I'm excited, but a little angsty as I'm usually joined at the hip with my girls, Margaret and Winnie.  Their flight doesn't even land till five, so I should stay in our room and work.  Knowing me, instead of being responsible, I'll no doubt run off on some crazy mission to find the NYC Housewives and/or Regis and Kelly!!!!  That said, I vow to wear the right shoes for stalking!!!!
