Lousia and Ian--Reunited!!! Romance Mission #1 Accomplished!!!
With my big, green chair about 860 miles west, I'm writing this propped against a pillow pile at a Columbus, Ohio Hampton Inn.
As I didn't know it was possible for a body to be this tired, I'll be quick, but just had to share the pic I promised of the successful completion of Mission #1 of the Romance Road Trip!! I may write books about romance, but can't describe how exciting it was seeing two young people obviously smitten with each other reunited. Not gonna lie--I got a little teary, not just from happiness for the two of them, but wondering what happened to the days when Hubby and I ached to be together.
About thirty seconds after the happy couple left for a night on the apparently happening town of Columbus, I called Hubby and was very much excited to hear his voice. I was profoundly grateful to have him in my life--to get Sprite for me when my tummy hurts and to wholeheartedly support me in this nutty, cross-country mission to enable two lovesick girls who can't afford airfare to indulge in romance.
Hubby and I tell each other every day, I love you, but tonight, I have the oddest sense of feeling closer to him than I usually do. 860 miles from our comfy home, I know he's there for me and always has my back, just as I have his.
Sniff, sniff, enough misty rambling.
Time to gripe about something!! LOL!! Indiana drivers were very rude today--at least the ones we came across. I would've liked more ranch dressing on the Subway we had for lunch in Illinois, and the storm we collided with outside of Indianapolis was SUPER scary!! With tornadoes seemingly everywhere, it was unnerving to be immersed in an alien-green sky with rain falling so hard the wipers couldn't keep up.
On the eastern side of the storm, however, Hannah, Louisa and I encountered one of the strangest weather events I've ever seen--a ground hugging rainbow. It was as if we were directly in it. Surrounded by prismatic light. No gold to be had, but breathtakingly gorgeous. Alas, it wouldn't show up on film, but we felt blessed to have experienced it.
With my eyelids drooping, I'm off to bed, already fretting about the 600 miles we have tomorrow!! Next stop, the Jersey Shore!!!
